Chassis No. COB 6034 is one of just 48 R.H. Drive examples built by AC Cars Ltd. at Thames Ditton, Surrey between 1963 and 1965.
The second owner registered it in Nov. 1966 and kept it for 45 years, during which time he stored it in Monaco from the 1980’s till 2010.
Cosmetic improvements to his specification – e.g. the engine-turned aluminium fascia, fared-in trim panels and fully carpeted boot etc. – were carried out by AC Cars Ltd./Autokraft at Brooklands.
Full tailored weather equipment in dark blue mohair plus tool-kit is provided.
Since the current owner’s acquisition in 2011, it has been a Salon Prive Concours entrant, outright winner ‘Peoples’ Choice’ at the Goodwood Revival Earls Court MotorShow and 3rd overall in the London Excel Classic Car Show.
It has also had multi-page front cover features in ‘Classic and Sports Car’ and ‘Classic Cars’ magazines.
The substantial file that accompanies the car contains the original green logbook from 1964 and the Factory Sales Leaflet etc.
Recorded mileage presently stands at 11,900 from new, endorsed by odometer readings in the 1980’s of 10,700.
Eligible for all major international historic events it is unquestionably one of the finest examples of its type – which incidentally also drives as well as it looks!
